We should abandon ourselves to God more fully at those times when He seems to have abandoned us. Let us enjoy His light and comfort when it is His pleasure to give it to us, but may we not attach ourselves to His gifts. May we instead attach ourselves to Him, and when He plunges us into the night, where pure faith is required, may we still press on through the agonizing darkness.

Amen. It’s difficult to hold on to faith in God when you’re going through a dark night of the soul, but I suppose that’s the ultimate test of faith.

Yes, I’m just glad that GOD often times holds on to US during times of difficulty, as well…when we just don’t have the strength to hold on to Him. I feel like sometimes faith isn’t as much about holding onto to God, but about letting go, and trusting God to “catch us.”
