If a person allows it, he can find something at every turn of the road that will rob him of his victory and his peace of mind. Satan is far from retiring from his work of attempting to deceive and destroy God’s children. At each milestone in your life, it is wise to check the temperature of your experience in order to be keenly aware of the surrounding conditions. If you will do this and firmly exhibit your faith at the precise moment, you can sometimes actually snatch victory from the very jaws of defeat. Faith can change any situation, no matter how dark or difficult. Lifting your heart to God in a moment of genuine faith in Him can quickly alter your circumstances. God is still on His throne, and He can turn defeat into victory in a split second, if we will only trust Him.

In His Hand
Pitter patter,
Rain spatters
Down the rooftop of our home.
A dark night,
And out of sight
Is the sun that once did roam.
I feel my heart
Stop and start,
Pondering the worries that I face;
I can’t let go –
Release control,
For I need things done my way.
But there’s a God
Whose staff and rod
Will guide me as I pray.
I give it up,
Lift up my cup –
Let the Lord pour in His plan;
He knows what’s best,
And I can rest
Fully surrounded in His hand.

Good for Me
“Faith does not say, ‘I see this is good for me; therefore God must have sent it.’ Instead, faith declares, ‘God sent it; therefore it must be good for me.'”
~ from Streams in the Desert, by L.B. Cowman, May 1st entry
God has been teaching me more and more about faith.
Left to my own devices, I get caught up in wrong thinking. I wonder, “Is this what God wants me to do?” I worry, “Do I have the ability to carry out what God has called me to accomplish?” And I whine, “Why doesn’t the Lord make this assignment more easy for me?”
But God has promised that He is faithful to complete what He has started in me. If my Father has laid out a task before me, I must believe that He will provide the strength, grace, and courage needed to carry it out.
What is left for me to do is to rely on Him, and to trust that because He has sent it, it is the best possible situation that I could be in.
What situation do you need to trust God with today? ❤
