Trusting His Heart

From the beginning to the end God has me in His hand.

So then how does all of this sorrow fit into His plan?

Why do I feel like I’m drowning in suffering,

When what you’re telling me is that you want me to sing?

I know that You are God and that what You do is good…

But will there ever be a time that I can say I understood

Why you didn’t take away the hurt and the pain?

Please help me to to trust Your heart until you make things plain.

Strengthen me through these trials and guide me in Your will,

And when I want to argue, Lord, please teach me to be still.

Thankful Thursday

I’ve been trying to change my perspective and to acquire an attitude that is more grateful. And guess what? God is helping me!

My goal is to record at least three specific things from my day that I am thankful for. Some days may be harder than others, but I know that there are at least three things that I can find to praise God for. Truthfully, even if they’re bad things that happen or difficult situations that I’m struggling with, I should still be able to find something good in them.

So today is Thursday and both “Thankful” and “Thursday” begin with a “Th,” so I just had to pick today to start this journey. 😀 I think what I’m going to try to do is write a post each Thursday filled with all the things I’m grateful for from the previous week. We’ll see how it goes!

Three things from today that I’m thankful for:

  1. God helped me with my first day of scoring essays at my work-from-home job.
  2. I got to take a nice walk in my neighborhood with our dog, Daisy. Also, during the walk I was able to visit with a couple who lives close to us.
  3. I was able to visit my Hubby on his break at work tonight, and we had gift cards to get Starbucks drinks….Yum!

Thanks for reading, and I hope to continue this tradition of Thankful Thursday. Maybe you could even start a similar tradition, yourself! The more grateful we are, the more positive I believe we’ll be. ❤

Coins in a Jar

Forty-four dollars and nineteen cents.

That’s how much money I received from the machine after putting in all of the coins that my Dad had saved up for me. He loves throwing his change in a jar when he comes home from work, and then giving it to me to cash out and use towards things that I need.

I went food shopping after I traded in my coins. I attempted to add up in my head the cost of the things that I was putting in my cart, but I soon lost count. Going down my grocery list, I picked up the items that I needed, and was finally ready to check out. As the cashier rang up my items, I was praying that I had enough cash to pay for it. And you’ll never guess how much the total came to:

Forty-four dollars and nineteen cents!

Isn’t our God amazing?! He knew how much money I needed, and He provided it for me – nothing more, and nothing less.

And I know that His provision wasn’t just about money. It was about my Father showing me, in a manner that I could not deny, that He sees me. He sees the things that I’m going through. He sees my heart and my desire to please Him. He sees my struggles and my shortcomings and my sins…and He loves me just the same.

I am His daughter, and He lovingly cares for my needs.

So whatever situation you are in today, just know that God sees you. He sees every detail of Your situation, and He cares deeply. If you will trust Him with your life, He will gladly take your burdens and will faithfully provide for you in His own time and way – just as He graciously did for me.

That’s the simple lesson that God taught me through coins in a jar.
