[Un]welcome “Talents”

When Dr. Moon, of Brighton, England, was suddenly struck with blindness, he said, “Lord, I accept this ‘talent’ of blindness from You. Help me to use it for Your glory so that when You return, You may receive it ‘back with interest’ [Matthew 25:27].” Then God enabled him to invent the Moon Alphabet for the blind, through which thousands of blind people were enabled to read the Word of God and thereby come to the glorious saving knowledge of Christ.

Oh, to see my “thorn in the flesh” in this way!

Lord, I accept this ‘talent’ of mental illness from You. Help me to use it for Your glory so that when You return, You may receive it ‘back with interest.’

So Much to be Thankful For

I have a lot to be thankful for right now. Things that I have been worried about are being worked out. Are they perfect or exactly where I would want them to be? No–but what is important is that God is hearing my prayers and working in my life and the lives of those I love.

I just want to thank my readers for listening to my rants; I know that I can get very “down” sometimes, and it can probably be discouraging. But thank God that He doesn’t leave me where I am! He continues to guide me along my “Journey of Faith”…and I am so grateful for His care, and for the support of the people in my life–including those who read and support me through my blog.

Writing has truly been an outlet! Awesome–another thing to thank God for! 🙂 He is so good. In the good times, and in the bad times. I pray that I will remember His goodness each day, and that it will give me the strength to keep going when things get tough.

God’s blessings to all of you! And I hope that you are enjoying this season of remembrance, and this time to praise God for the gift of His Son.

Thank you again for taking this journey with me! ❤

What to Do When You Don’t Know What to Do

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV)

What do you do when you don’t know what to do? I’m still trying to figure out the answer to this question! 🙂 I have some decisions in my life to make, and in many ways, I don’t know which way is the correct way to turn. This can be very frustrating and confusing.

However, I DO have some direction from God’s Word. It may not tell me specifically what I should do in a certain situation, but it tells me what to do in the mean time!

So when you don’t know what to do, look to God and His Word. Take a moment to meditate on 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV):

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Truthfully, the things listed in those few verses give me enough to focus on for the rest of my life! None of them is an easy undertaking, but with God’s help, we can take steps towards obeying Him in these areas today.

Be encouraged! God loves you, and He wants to show you (and me!) the right way to go. But first we need to focus on the things that He has already clearly directed us to do in Scripture.

Take the first step towards obedience today, and watch as He unfolds your path one day at a time. ❤
